Ho White
This is just too funny to pass up.

In a hilariously inappropriate ad campaign to promote their new raspberry ale, Jamieson Brewery ran the following ad in Australia earlier this week.
The ad, shown to the right, is of “Ho White and the Seven Dwarves. “The tagline is, “Anything but sweet”.
According to several news sources, Jamieson was contact by Disney shortly after the ad went live and it is suspected they talked about copyright infringements. The ad can no longer be found online, except in news publications.
Disney first released Snow White in 1937, though Snow White was created by Grimm’s Brothers Fairytales in 1812 and was called SnowDrop. The copyrights to SnowDrop have long since expired. In fact, you can access/reproduce/whatever all of the Grimm’s Fairytales through Project Gutenberg, here.
The Grimm brothers published Children’s and Household Tales in 1812, a collection which later became known as “Grimm’s Fairy Tales.” The collection included what are now some of the world’s most famous stories, including Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin – and of course SnowDrop now known as Snow White.
This makes me wonder what rights Disney alleged were violated? A fictional character adapted from a similar one invented by 2 German brothers who were alive way back in the 18th and 19th century… Seems to me that Jamieson followed Disney’s lead and found a new way to profit from an old story, then got punished for it. I guess when you are a little brewery and a big bully like Disney comes knocking at your door all hot-headed and fussy – you comply.
