Circus Ponies
Circus Ponies notebook is arguably the best thing to hit the computer world since Windows… oh, wait, maybe Windows wasn’t a good thing. I digress.
Circus Ponies is a feature rich application that affords Mac users the ability to compile all their notes into a central, user friendly environment. Interestingly enough, the two target markets Circus Ponies identifies on their web site are Education and Legal – a match made in heaven for law students.
Some of my PC-based friends use applications such as Evernote to achieve a similar result. Having seen what their notes look like on only solidifies my choice in being a Mac user. If Apple doesn’t make something better for Mac than is available on PC themselves, a devout follower is more than certain to step up to the challenge.
Circus Ponies was featured as must have app list at the ABA Tech conference earlier this year. Here, the speakers outlined benefits of being a Mac based lawyer both from a hardware and software standpoint. Details of their presentation can be found here.
My favorite review, as found on the Circus Ponies website, is from a practicing lawyer in Garland Texas, who stated, “Even by itself NoteBook seems to have justified our firms recent move to the Mac.” Kern Lewis, founding partner of Foreman, Kern & Lewis, LLP.

This is my first semester law school notebook and probably needs updating, but as you can see NoteBook has kept my academic life better organized and worry free. All my PC friends are jealous of my Circus Pony and the Mac students are always asking what program I use, many of which convert.
The above link I directed you to is also another cool thing CP does, it allows you to export your notebook as HTML and upload it to your website. This way you are never without your notes!
